I visited Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and it’s just very sad to see so many thousands upon thousands of people died on a beautiful hilly battlefield in breathtaking scenery.
How could Americans want to KILL Americans?????
And why did Confederates take the war into Pennsylvania, which was a “Free state?”
This isn’t even about seceding from the union, they took the war into Union territory
so much bloodshed for NOTHING???? When you visit the battle field it all comes to life.

We could trash Washington for several mistakes he made allowing our early soldiers to go hungry and shoeless in battling the British.
Or how about Roosevelt for allowing December 7, 1941? Why didn’t he “connect the dots”?
We could also blame Kennedy for Vietnam and the Bay of Pigs.
How about Lincoln, why didn’t he “connect the dots” and reach out and just “talk” with the leadership from the South? Was it his arrogance? His inability to measure a potential explosive situation?
How about Gettysburg….the bloodiest battle in America with over 50,000 casualties. How COULD Lincoln ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN?
The answer is they are people….they make mistakes….like Clinton not going after Osama when he could have or Jimmy Carter’s poor handling of the Iranian Hostage situation.
