You have to keep in mind that he is doing that with a Chicago mindset. If your from the Chicagoland area, or keep up with our local news here, then you know that Chicago politicians (well, all Illinois politicians) are corrupt idiots that are so blind that they can’t see S**t, even though they all have their collective head shoved so far up their collect A$$ that they can see daylight.
“The Machine” that drives the city hasn’t quite been able to see the giant, glowing chartreuse neon flashing sign that banning guns from citizens leads to more gun crimes. They refuse to acknowledge that the problem is the gangs, that deal the drugs that the police don’t bother to even try to think about stopping.
The problem is from the street up, and the morons running the show are simply to stupid to understand, even when talked to slowly using small words.
Gang bangers deal drugs (also banned, outlawed, and illegal to posses) to the poor and stupid. They get (with the drugs), illegal guns. They use said guns to shoot rival gang bangers. Police don’t really want to do anything, as stopping crime costs money (as opposed to parking tickets, automated ticket camera’s, and taxes). Since fighting crime costs money, it isn’t done. Too cover for their incompetence, politicians say that the problem is guns, keep them outlawed (like the drugs that are so prevalent). Since outlawing guns has done nothing, zero, zip, zilch, nada to stop gun crime, they want to take guns from everyone in the country.
Point is, Chicago Sucks. Should have a wall built around it, keeps it’s people in (let them shoot each other, improves the gene pool), and keep good people out. Then shove the whole thing into the Lake, and be done with it.

I have never owned a gun and have always been afraid to own one, but just the thought of someone telling me that I can’t is enough to convince me that I should get one. I will defend the Constitution.

I don’t have a problem with registering for the purposes of recovery if stolen and for forensic analysis. After 4.5 years as a detective and crime scene investigator I can see where that would be handy. But this look more like a way for the feds to start choking out the 2nd amendment and at the same time getting more money out of the already squeezed taxpayer pocket.

The Supreme Court has already determined that a right can not be taxed because “the power to tax is the power to destroy”. And a license is “permission to do that which would otherwise be unlawful” which the 2nd Amendment and Supreme Court say private ownership of firearms is not.
So it will not hold up under a properly brought court challenge.

Ok how is he lying? It say in the bill in leagalize exactly what he is claiming. Get you head out of your bum, Obama is the most gun control fool there is and he is trying every dirty trick he can to get around the 2nd amendment. just like he did to get a seat at the senate table by making his opponent resign.

So you are scared now that they want to keep better track of guns so they can trace one used in a crime much easier?
Do yourself a favor…. go out and take a forensic science class, so you realize what it takes to actually convict criminals in a crime where a firearm is involved, so you will know the difference between trying to make it easier to control criminals and when they are trying to control your rights.
