I’m doing a project with a partner for history class and we need historical events that took place in 1860-1920. We already have the emancipation proclamation, Alaskan Gold Rush, and Battle of Gettysburg. We just need about four more events. And this is due pretty soon, so please help!!

The Redemption of the South. Occurred in the 1870s. Essentially, the South had been an occupied land (except for Tennessee) during the 1860s. In the 1870s, Southerners rose up successfully and took back control of their state governments.
In 1874, a group of great patriots in New Orleans instigated a coup which for a brief time was successful, locals had recaptured control of the city.
That same year, there was actual armed combat in the streets of Arkansas to decide the gubernatorial race of Arkansas
In South Carolina, vigilante groups organized to ensure that locals took back control of the state, electing Wade Hampton governor.
There was also the Compromise of 1876, which restored freedom to Louisiana, South Carolina and Florida in exchange for the electoral votes to elect Hayes president.
There was also the famous order made by U.S. General Ben Butler in 1862 upon capturing New Orleans, when he declared that every woman in New Orleans was to be treated as a prostitute
Hope this helps
