I have to do a graphic organzier on one of the battles of the Civil War. If anyone can help me answer any of the following questions that’d be GREAT!
- Who led which army?
- What strategies were used?
- What and how was this battle significant in the war?
- What were the results? Winners? Morale?
The Union Army was led by George Meade, while the Confederate Army was led by Lee.
The South gave up the high ground earl on in the first day. The second day they tried to flank the Union Army but was unsuccessful. The third day Lee charged the Union line.
When the South lined up for Pickett’s charge it was the height of the Confederate Army. When they lost their northern attack plan was crushed, and Lee was now on the defensive for the rest of the war. Lee would never have another chance to make a dent in the Union Army again. The morale was high for the North, but the loss of lives upset the North.
Leaders
Union-McClellan for a while, then Lincoln fired him, then it was some1 else, then it was U S Grant,
Confederacy- Robert E Lee
Strategies
Union- Anaconda Plan, which was to smother and blocade the South’s economy
Confeds- wait it out until the Union got tired, and to withhold cotton from European countries in hopes to force them to aid the South
