About 6 years ago, I was driving home, and when I got off at my exit, I saw an adult male deer (often referred to as a buck, bull, or stag) on the side of the road. I didn’t think too much of it because I lived next to the river, so I would see deer every once in awhile. I was waiting at the stop sign because there were some cars going by. I noticed the buck was approaching my car (honda civic) on the passenger side. He bent his head down and charged my car. He hit hard, and fell down. He quickly got back up and ran the other direction.
When I got home, I saw that he had put a big dent in the side of the car. I called Animal Control. They said that it was mating season, and the Bucks can get very aggressive during that time of year. The Buck must have seen my car as competition, and decided to challenge it. I’m not sure who lost that battle. I think my car did.
